Andy Albrecht is the CEO of The Counseling Center and Aaron Wagner is the Vice President. TCC is a very well respected organization with a long track record in the region. It is CARF

accredited. and also certified through the Ohio Department of Mental Health. It has been in business over 40 years, being founded in 1980 in Portsmouth. They now

operated across several counties and have 564 employees. Drug and alcohol treatments have changed and expanded dramatically over the years. TCC is one of

few organizations in its field that is organized as a non-profit. This structure allows them to have operations and activities that are not cost effective in for-profit

organizations. TCC built the new facility at the corner of 4th & Center. It is a $2 million state of the art health care facility. It encompasses 8,000 sq ft and is both for

in and out-patient. They have 12 beds. When they enter a new community, as they did in Ironton, they want to be a good neighbor and positive presence. They try to

serve the needs of the communities they operate in, including economic development. TCC is very mission focused. The goal is to get clients clean and sober,

then help them stay that way. TCC tries provide the full continuum of care for the clients. An example of this is they have a fleet of 54 buses which travel over 80,000

miles per month taking the people to all the services they need to use. The Stepping Stones Outpatient Program is for treating pregnant women, those with children up

to age 12, and women reuniting with their children. TCC is the only organization in Ohio with this type program. It includes supportive housing. It has numerous unique

services for this demographic of clients. One recent accomplishment for TCC is eliminating waiting lists for treatment. This was a hard problem to solve and took a

long time, but because people can die while on a waiting list, it was a priority to address. TCC offers the full spectrum of behavioral health treatment, not just

addiction related. Their services are fully comprehensive, including in-patient, outpatient, transitional services, mental health services, primary healthcare, health and

wellness, transportation, housing, and dining, along with preventative and outreach services.
